Andromeda started out as a violent galaxy. In turn three, I, Confused, read the following game bulletins:

At that time, I encountered the first other races. I decided I wanted to meet those races, so I set myself to peace with everybody. Probing found the location of the Homeworld of Chess, and so, in turn 12, it was bombed by a joined effort of Confused and my neighbor Dragons. A good alliance between Dragons and Confused began with this. Around the same time I started to get allied with Nojd.
In exchange for the help Dragons gave me in getting Chess' Homeworld, I promised they would get the Homeworld of theCatHouse. Somewhen meanwhile I heard that Stareaters and Quickmire nuked each others' homeworlds. The Vladolators managed to annoy all of their neighbors by sending out armed ships in random directions, and so united theCatHouse and a few other races against themselves. I heard of this from The Power Who Shall Not Be Named (TPWSNBN), my western neighbor, whom I decided to call Nameless. I had good relations with that race, and we agreed on a border (actually the border consisted only of one 1307 size system which we had both seen but which Nameless owned).
A few small races were destroyed, and the time approached when I was to live up to my promise to the Dragons. In turn 32, war erupted when the alliance of Nojd, Dragons and Confused jumped at theCatHouse. Shadoe was at war with Nojd somewhen around the same time, so he also got bombed during the following turns.
For a while, Nameless tried to ignore what was happening, but by turn 37 he realized that the alliance of Nojd, Dragons and Confused would soon be the only empires left, so he surprise-attacked Dragons and Confused, hoping that Nojd would be too busy with Shadoe and not attack him. He was wrong - Shadoe did less than he could have, so Nojd did not deem it necessary to focus on Shadoe and joined war against Nameless a while later. theCatHouse moved his last fleet first to Dragons, then to Confused, where it was then destroyed after scoring a bombing on each victim.
Confused made the error (?) of refusing a ceasefire offer from Nameless after his first turn of surprise attack. That probably caused Nameless to give the slightly larger share of damage to me. The major fightings went until turn 44, in which Nameless' Homeworld fell. Some cleaning up of other races followed.
This is when the game started to get slow: Only Nojd, Dragons and Confused were left, so we decided to finish cleaning up, then wait for a few turns before we fight it out at in turn 55. Having taken the most damage in the previous war, I was lucky: Nojd and Dragons went for each other, bombing only the weakly defended of my systems. Only in turn 58, when Nojd was already severely weakened, did Confused and Dragons start bombing each other in earnest. The Dragons surrendered. Confused is the winner of galaxy Andromeda.
The alliance between Dragons, Nojd and Confused was the best alliance
